Mrs. Virginia Paisant and her class have adopted a class at Goose Creek Memorial High in Baytown, Texas. Baytown is located right outside of Houston, Texas. The adopted class is taught by Mrs. Williams, a 9th grade algebra teacher of 125 students. The school, fortunately, was left unharmed by the recent flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.

“I think it’s good to help Houston with their supplies,” Brian Talley said. Along with sending Mrs. Williams a card that read “Daphne Alabama supports you Houston, Texas” decorated with a small star on top of Daphne.

Despite the school being left unharmed, the homes of students were greatly affected because the students lost almost everything they owned, partially due to the rapid onset of mold and mildew. In response, Mrs. Paisant’s class is donating colored pencils, glue sticks, mardi gras beads, and class made cards.

“We’re happy to be able to partner with a school in Houston in order to provide them with supplies they need to have a successful school year,” Mrs. Paisant said.

Many classes have agreed to help Mrs. Williams class in order to ensure that they are receiving the most help possible. Mrs. Paisant told Mrs. Williams that future help may be received simply by contacting her by email.
