Daphne’s JV volleyball team played Satsuma on Thursday, starting with excellent defense. Chloe, number 6, set the ball right over the net scoring an ace.
“When I prepare to set the ball to someone, I usually set it to one of the most powerful or consistent hitters,” Chloe Chaffin, a sophomore on Daphne’s JV volleyball team said.
The team worked well together during the duration of the first set with fantastic plays. Throughout the first set, Daphne won and took the lead, scoring 25 to 22 over Satsuma.
“The girls minimized more of their errors, and communicated more efficiently, which I think led to a positive outcome during the first set,” Mrs. Larson, a volleyball coach, and Algebra 1 teacher for Daphne High School said.
Satsuma hit the ball out of the court quite a few times, giving Daphne free points during the second set. By the middle of the second set, Daphne had scored 20 to 14 over Satsuma. In the end, Daphne beat Satsuma by 25 to 18.
