Did you say Grand Champs?

This past Saturday October, 28th the Daphne High School’s Sound of the Eastern Shore was up and practicing at 10:15 am and then left at 12pm to travel up to Beauregard High School to perform in the Hornet Marching Band Invitational.

 

Many of the band members are going to miss the competitions since that was our last competition and our marching season is over. “ I miss marching because I miss hanging out with my friends.” said Tyler Cornett. Other miss it for other reasons.

 

“I miss marching season because I miss being all together. It’s like we’re all one big family,” Kaley Jones said .

 

The band performed their 2017 show, Survival of the Human spirit, at 9p.m for prelims and there were no finals due to weather.The band won best in class Color guard, Percussion and in prelims. The band won 1st as Grand Champions.The band directors are Jamar Dumas and Michaela Vaughn. Drum Majors are Sarah Wilson and Elisa Koolman. Other staff includes Mark Foster, Marsha Foster, and Josh Harper.
