Daphne Swim & Dive Team has Top Finishes in State Championship

The DHS Swim and Dive competed in the state championships on December 1-2 and brought home 10 top three finishes. The girls team won 7th in state, with only 7 girls competing, and the boys won 3rd in state with only 9 boys competing. Trey Sheils became a state champion, winning the Boy’s 100 Breaststroke and setting the state record in the same event. Emilie Hunter, a 12th grader, won 2nd in state in Girl’s 1 meter diving, qualifying for All-American honors. Emilie also was state champion in the same event last year. The boys team finished top in 6A by 196 points and the girls finished runner-up in 6A to Spanish Fort by 6.5 points. Eight swimmers from Daphne that won 8th place or higher were awarded All-State honors.

Girls 1 meter diving- Emilie Hunter 2nd ( score of 400.05 qualifying for All-American honors)

Girls 200 medley relay- Olivia Smith, Emmie Smith, MK Stewart, and Grace Ready 4th

Boys 200 medley relay- Will Robinson, Trey Sheils, Graham Jenkins, and Jacob Lambert 2nd

Boys 200 free- Andrew Jordan 5th and Eli Poole 13th

Girls 200 IM- MK Stewart 5th

Boys 200 IM- Will Robinson 2nd and Evan Ren 13th

Boys 50 free- Tyler Bailey 11th and Jacob Lambert 13th

Girls 100 fly- Olivia Smith 2nd

Boys 100 fly-Graham Jenkins 12th

Boys 100 free-Trey Sheils 3rd, Jacob Lambert 8th, and Tyler Bailey 16th

Boys 500 free- Andrew Jordan 3rd and Eli Poole 10th

Boys 200 free relay- Evan Ren, Graham Jenkins, Andrew Jordan, and Tyler Bailey 5th

Girls 100 back- Olivia Smith 2nd and MK Stewart 4th

Boys 100 back- Will Robinson 2nd

Girls 100 breast- Kayla Spicer 15th and Emmie Smith 16th

Boys 100 Breast- Trey Sheils 1st(STATE CHAMPION) and Evan Ren 11th

Girls 400 free relay- MK Stewart, Grace Ready, Emmie Smith, and Olivia Smith 4th

Boys 400 free relay- Will Robinson, Evan Ren, Jacob Lambert, and Trey Sheils 2nd
