Winterguard

On February 16, 2019 Daphne High Schools Winterguard met at Trojan Hall at 9 in the morning to warm up and get ready for the GCGPC competition in Robertsdale Alabama. They departed from Daphne at 12 pm and arrived in Robertsdale at 1pm.

They have two teams, Junior Varsity and Varsity. Junior Varsity’s show is about angels and going into Heaven. They have sparkly grey uniforms and silver flags with a white and grey mat. Their show is called Joanna. The song is called “Joanna” by Lady Gaga.

“This is my first year on this team and I love it so much” Emmalyn Daniell, a senior in the Daphne High School JV Winterguard, said. “ I love the theme of our show and the wonderful ladies I practice with everyday”.

Varsity’s show is named Runaway Train, consisting of a train track floor mat, train and gear flags and rail road working uniforms. The song is by is called “Runaway Train” by Shoshana Bean.

Emma Clark, a sophomore in Daphne High Schools Varsity Winterguard, states, “I love the thrill of going to competitions and competing against other winterguards who have the same love for this sport as we do”.

The Sound of the Eastern Shore varsity winterguard is in the Scholastic A class. They competed against Pace winterguard and Tate winterguard.

Junior varsity winterguard competition in the Scholastic Novice class competing against 2 other groups, Baker winterguard and West Florida winterguard.
