Recently a selective group of students from daphne high school’s band organization tried out for honor band in the fall and made it. Now some of those students are off to Montgomery to try out for two bands and then they have a concert Saturday, April, 21 ,2018. There were many students that tried out for District Honor Band and few made it and here are the students that made it.

 

Elizabeth Sebastian – Piccolo (Senior)

Darina Gerard – Flute (Sophomore)

Samantha Jerry – Oboe (Freshman)

Harper Rumph – Bassoon (Junior)

Erika Horne – Bb Soprano Clarinet (Senior)

Sarah Wilson – Bb Soprano Clarinet (Senior)

Eris Blankenhorn – Bb Soprano Clarinet (Freshman)

Michael Duggar – Tenor Saxophone (Senior)

Carter Buchanan – Percussion (Sophomore)

 

Here are some the alternatives for District Honor Band.

 

Erin Lockwood – Bass Clarinet (Sophomore)

Chris McClurg – Trombone ( Junior)

 

Some of the students do this and try out so that they can meet other musicians “it’s a great opportunity to meet other young musicians and it’s a good place to be exposed to new music which helps with sight reading abilities” said Darina Gerard a sophomore at Daphne High School .

Some enjoy this because they want to be better in the future “ working with different clinicians  that can give you playing tips to further better yourself” said Harper Rumph a junior at Daphne High School.
